GraceArts LIVE and Arizona Coast Children’s Theatre announces

2024 SUMMER WORKSHOP/ PERFORMANCES: MADAGASCAR, JR.

REGISTRATION BEGINS: Monday, March 25, 2024

WORKSHOP #1: June 17-21 and June 24-27, 9AM-Noon. Dress rehearsal June 28 at 9AM. Performances for the Public: June 28, 29 & 30.

WORKSHOP #2: July 1-3, 5 and July 8-11, 9AM-Noon. Dress rehearsal July 12 at 9AM. Performances for the Public: July 12, 13 & 14.

WORKSHOP #3: July 15-19 and July 22-25, 9AM-Noon. Dress rehearsal July 26 at 9AM. Performances for the Public: July 26, 27 & 28.

THE SHOW: Madagascar – A Musical Adventure, Jr. is an adaptation of the animated film, that follows Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo as they embark on an adventure from the Central Park Zoo to the wild plains of Madagascar. With show-stopping numbers like “I Like to Move It” and “We Are Family,” it is a whirlwind journey of humor, heartwarming moments, and toe-tapping melodies. Madagascar Jr. celebrates unity, embracing differences, the joy of stepping outside one’s comfort zone, the power of camaraderie and the wonders of self-discovery.

DETAILS: Enroll your child in one of this summer’s 2024 GraceArts LIVE theatre sessions for the development of new skills, interesting experiences, and amazing theatre memories. Workshops are available for up to 50 children entering Kindergarten through 9th grade for Fall 2024. Tuition: $150. For the second child from the same household: $125. Additional children from the same household: $100.

TO SIGN UP: A registration form & payment must accompany the workshop sign up. Payment can be in cash, check (payable to GraceArts LIVE) or credit card. Credit card payments can ONLY be handled by the theatre box office. Sign your child up for no more than TWO sessions. If you are interested in more, there will be a wait list for the third workshop, and you will be notified if there is space availability. You can register by visiting the Arizona Coast Dance Studio, at 3476 McCulloch Blvd. Monday – Thursday, 3:30-7pm or the theatre Box Office at 2146 McCulloch Blvd. Monday – Friday 3-6pm or calling (928) 505-2787 (ARTS) and leaving your name & phone number, starting Monday, March 25. The Box Office will call you back for information and you can reserve your child’s place with your credit card.

AUDITIONS: Saturday, AUGUST 10, 10AM for DIARY OF A WIMPY KID, at Arizona Coast Performing Arts Dance Studio, 3476 McCulloch Blvd. for ages 8-18. Be prepared to sing a one-minute song with a Karaoke-style CD. Wear comfortable tied shoes (like sneakers) for easy and safe movement. If cast, tuition is $150 for the first child, $125 for each subsequent child in a family. Scholarships will be available. Performance dates are September 13-15 & 20-22.

AUDITIONS: Wednesday, AUGUST 21, 7:30PM for GraceArts LIVE 2024 Fall Season at Arizona Coast Performing Arts Dance Studio, 3476 McCulloch Blvd for high school students and adults. Be prepared to sing a one-minute song with a Karaoke-style CD. Wear comfortable tied shoes (like sneakers) for easy and safe movement. ANNIE: Auditions will include 5 & 6 year old girls for the part of Molly, and 7 years old and up for all other girl orphan parts. Boy parts will be hand picked by the director.
